Derramore Children's Church welcomes children from the ages 2 (depending on the child) until primary 6 inclusive. This time is taken during the service after the second hymn when the children leave the main church service and go to the hall.  It is here they watch a series called "Friends and Heroes" DVD.  These lessons covers Bible stories which are told by the Friends and Heroes characters which draws out a theme that is carried out in an adventure story. The story is an introduction for the children (and lasts approximately 10-14 minutes) to the material which will be covered in both the DVD and the lesson.  It usually takes the form of a fun craft, game or activity which the children will enjoy doing and which will give them a feel for the theme covered in this week's lesson.  Younger children in the group may find this part of the lesson particularly relevant to them.  Prayer time includes a craft or activity which is designed to lead the children into thinking about prayer in relation to the theme of the lesson.  It encourages the children to consider what they might want to say to, or ask God.
